Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide an understanding of the potential of Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) in the field of
crisis intervention. TRE is a self-help method that can support those affected by crisis and trauma as well as helping professionals at risk
of secondary trauma. It promotes the coping process and attempts to mitigate the consequences of
such events.
Based on the research questions and hypotheses, I drew up an interview guide for a semi-structured interview to collect experimental expert knowledge on the basis of three interviews in order to test the hypotheses.
The expert interviews confirmed the hypotheses and showed that TRE is unique in that it combines neurogenic tremor and organismic
self-regulation (bottom-up) with a practical everyday application (individual and collective) and thus makes it available to large sections
of the population. The great value lies in the fact that TRE can be used both
as an acute crisis intervention method, as a self-help tool
and as an accompanying method in therapeutic settings.

Summary of the
expert interviews
The summary of the expert interviews with the TRE Certification trainers Richmond Heath, Stephen Haines and Thomas Thiel can also be read on its own. It provides a very interesting overview of the respective experts' opinions on crisis intervention and TRE.
